House Rule #3

Through this series of posts I’ll be diving deep into the House Rules I’ve created for ATTN Seattle, and why I believe they’re important to developing a specific kind of community and atmosphere most people actually want in a gym.

House Rule #3 is KEEP IT CLEAN

Gyms are dirty AF. Keeping your gym tidy not only maintains a sense of pride, but allows you do just focus on your training. Clean up after yourself and put things back where they belong! We have all the tools to erase the evidence of your presence.

I shouldn’t have to go further here, but I will. Keeping ATTN Seattle clean is important for several reasons:

  1. Health and Safety: A clean environment minimizes the risk of germs, bacteria, and allergens that could affect the health of everyone. Maintaining a hygienic space helps prevent illness and injury, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and safe while using the facility, plus you can keep training!

  2. Professionalism: A tidy and well-maintained space reflects the professional image we have. A well-kept environment shows that we value quality and attention to detail. It keeps the weights from breaking and eroding, avoids taxing equipment more than need be, and allows me to not feel gross when using something someone just did. 😅

  3. Efficiency: Make it easier to find equipment and tools when needed for a smoother workflow and more effective sessions, allowing the coaches to focus on providing the best service to our athletes instead of being distracted by clutter or disorganization. This also reduces the risk of potential issue or injury.

  4. Athlete Experience: An untidy space can make people feel uncomfortable or less inclined to return. A clean, clutter-free environment contributes to a positive work culture and an enhanced experience. It creates a sense of pride and ownership among all ATTN members, helping to foster a team-oriented environment where everyone contributes to maintaining the space. When people feel good about where they work out, it boosts overall morale and productivity.

A clean workspace leads to better results and more pride in your gym. Please help us keep it clean for you and the next person coming in.
